The Indian Air Force buckled up for a big task on Tuesday morning as they  plan to cross the LOC in a bid to destroy the Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp in Balakot. The air strike being called as surgical strike 2.0 comes in response to the terror attack that killed around 40 CRPF jawans in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir.


The strike has been confirmed by Vijay Gokhale, Foreign Secretary of India said that a large number of JeM terrorists, trainers and senior commanders were eliminated in largest JeM camp in Balakot. The camp is said to be led by Maulana Yusuf Azhar alias Ustad Ghauri, brother-in-law of JeM Chief Masood Azhar.

According to sources, the Indian air force dropped a 1000 kg laser-guided bombs on the terror camp. It is said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi held a cabinet committee on security meeting in New Delhi along with Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Arun Jaitley. The attack which is named by the government as a ‘non-military attack’ took place at 3:30 am.

In response to the attack, many leaders began applauding the Indian government for taking such a significant step. Congress president, Rahul Gandhi saluted the pilots of  Indian Air Force after the reports of bombing across the Line of Control (LoC) surfaced on February 26.


Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party Convener, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “I salute the bravery of Indian Air Force pilots who have made us proud by striking terror targets in Pakistan”.


Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister, Omar Abdullah called it ‘WOW’ and added that if this is true, this was not a small strike by any stretch of imagination.”
